“What? It’s a fake? I will get them off my shelf right away!” he said. That’s how this article was given birth.
I have kept this article under wraps for almost 2 years, partially to give the business time to do what he said, and partially because, well I don’t have a good reason. I also was looking for some more information I had.
Let’s start with a little background, until 2014 I did not care about small reflex sites and did not keep up with their technology or cost. It was a result of this incident that I began my research and study of the small reflex sites. I have used “holo” sites on rifles for decades, I just had not investigated or bought the small ones. On December 26th 2014, I received a box from XS Sights. I was awarded the Good Guy package for a question I posted and was read on StudentoftheGunRadio.com (Jarrad, Paul, if you know the episode, feel free to post it in the comments below, I forgot).
Last November 2015, I posted an article on the build of my wife’s pink AR. You can read about it here – http://the22man.com/2015/11/building-a-pink-ar-the-adventure/
One part that I had not purchased for that rifle was a pink trigger. I waited and hunted trying to find a deal. Finally for Christmas 2015 I just ordered it from CheaperThanDirt.com and paid $200 for it.
If any of you know me, you know I consider myself to be a patriot. I love the United States of America, I love Texas and Missouri. I consider my citizenship a privilege and an honor. I believe along with living here I have a civic duty to volunteer and support groups that support our States and Country.
Sometimes that patriotism bleeds over to “stuff” and in this case it bled over to a holster and magazine pouch I had Ares Tactical (www.AresTactical.net) make for me in April of 2015. The “Standard” holster and “Double magazine pouch” for a Generation 2 Glock 19 with the Missouri flag and a double magazine pouch with the Texas flag on it.
I want to start off with a disclaimer. Matt Facas started out several years ago as some guy I met at a gathering, then he became a guy I knew, then an acquaintance and now I consider him a friend. Before you think my views are too bias, check out some of my other reviews, I can be brutal. With that knowledge I talked to Matt and let him know I wanted to do a review of his products, I did not want or need any since I had many of them on hand. I could see the nervous look in his eyes, he was wondering how tough I was going to be. Well, I am just as tough as with any product I review.
