I found this many moons ago and don’t know exactly where to give credit, however I figure you needed a good laugh.
Everybody I know who has a dog usually calls him “Rover” or “Spot”. I call mine Sex. Continue reading A little fun with Sex

This is a reprint of an article I wrote for www.TheGunShowRadio.com, slightly edited for this reader group.
We all know that bad things can happen, fast! There could be a shooting during a home invasion or a car wreck or little Boy Blue could fall out of a tree, or any of a number of different injuries that occur to you or in front of you. Regardless a proper first aid kit is needed. This article and any follow-up are not intended to replace training. There are many classes and ways to learn about first aid and especially first aid for puncture wounds (gun shots, knife stabs, and sticks going through a person). Some classes cost, some are free, it is my suggestion that you take every class you can as often as you can. After reading my articles on CERT and Citizens Corps, you probably noticed that I mentioned ways and places to learn first aid in them. Continue reading SWAT-T Tourniquet
Back in October 2012, I decided to build a pink AR for my beautiful bride. Not because pink is a girls color but because she has worked in the breast care arena for many years. My goal was to build it by Christmas, and I wanted to make it as light as possible. Unfortunately parts were hard to find. I had the lower and an EOTech 512 along with a “lower parts kit”, several magazines, that was about it.
Today we are blessed with another guest article by the never controversial Dan McNeil who owns the Cartridge World on South Campbell in Springfield Missouri
Because of all the brouhaha surrounding the visit by Pope Francis, there are a lot of new pope books out there. Here’s an older one you might have heard of.
The title is inflammatory and unfair, but the book does present a fairly accurate picture of 1930s Europe and the terrible quandary Pope Pius XII and the Catholic Church found themselves in. Continue reading Pope Hope? Nope!

Relax. This is so common, somebody I don’t remember wrote a hilarious song about it.
If you were around in the 60’s, you might know of Tom Rush. One of the numerous folkies that included Joni Mitchell and that whole crowd, the song he sings here is very funny and will help you forget your troubles, which you probably already forgot you had. FEMA and other sources say you need 1 gallon of water per day per person. This is not just for drinking but hygiene and cleaning (toilet, washing clothing and dishes) too. It is an average and not written in stone.
There are easy steps you can follow to prepare your household in case of an emergency. Power outages, ice storms, hurricanes and earthquakes are just a few of the reasons you should take easy cheap simple steps to help yourself when a disaster strikes.
Sometimes radio and TV shows strike fear into people about preparing for disaster or turmoil. Many people like myself see the elephant and start to freak out, how do you eat this whole thing? One bite at a time. I want you to be as ready as you can be without adding unneeded anxiety to your life. Continue reading Having enough water and long term storage
In sticking with my insistence on only reviewing products I have used, this is a product I have had for about 8 years.

Believe it or not I miss writing articles. Back in the late 90s I wrote several firearms and firearm accessories reviews (They were never published). Before that I wrote several short stories and some poetry (that was published). In 2001 I began writing technology articles for local newspapers (in the Ozarks area) and then began a web site (www.TheWeeklyGeek.com), and a newsletter. With 2 jobs plus the writing, something had to give, unfortunately it was the one thing that did not pay, writing. Continue reading Firefield laser bore sight
